The first-ever Strategy to Impact Women in Business Success Forum brought together a fantastic group of women from across the business spectrum. It was an afternoon filled with insightful talks, valuable connections, and that unmistakable buzz of collaborative energy.
Our goal was simple: to highlight the resources available to women in business, from government support to practical services, and to create a space for genuine connection. We wanted to provide a platform where everyone, whether seasoned entrepreneurs or budding business owners, could gain valuable knowledge and inspiration.
The event was held at the stunning event space Le Ciel! OMG The views!
Our inspiring guest speakers Michelle Vu, Investment Manager - LaunchVic, and Pamela Sutton-Legaud, CEO - SBMS, provided valuable insights into the business support services they oversee in their roles.
LaunchVic
Michelle Vu, explained the mission of LaunchVic, which was established as a government-funded initiative to support Victorian tech start-ups through various investment programs and grants. Michelle was instrumental in establishing the Alice Anderson fund, which is a co-investment fund for female entrepreneurs.
Small Business Mentoring Service (SBMS)
The SBMS CEO, Pamela Sutton-Legaud, discussed some significant issues faced by women in business, including the importance of women on boards, gender pay gaps, and the challenges related to domestic violence. The discussion on the value of business mentors was particularly insightful. SBMS are open for applications from skilled business women who would like to become a mentor.
Book Launch
The event concluded with a few words from Strategy to Impact founder Katya Ellis, highlighting the value of the insights shared by the speakers in formulating strategies for growth. Katya shared a personal story of challenges she faced, which inspired her to change direction, launch Strategy to Impact and put her knowledge into a book - The Digital Marketing Guide that is now available for pre-order.
